Virginia Tech Memorial Fund
Not only do we advocate the worthwhile contribution to good causes through our words, articles and deeds, but a portion of the sales on Stress-Free Living.com goes to the charities listed below.
We hope that you, too, can find out 'how good it feels to give', even if it is only a few dollars, it all helps, and it all feels good. In fact, recent research proves that 'feel good' hormones are released when we offer a contribution to others -- moreso, than when we receive a gift.
Contribution is a hallmark of Stress-Free Living's mission and a principle by which we should all live. A portion of every sale will be given to worthy causes. Educational opportunities for everyone is fundamental to the success of our country and the betterment of the entire world.
For this reason, we support these opportunities to contribute to the well-being of others:
Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund
We believe that there is no better opportunity to combine Stress-Free Living's principle of overcoming hardships, creating positives out of negatives and exhibiting honor and character in all endeavors than to contribute to the Virginia Tech Spirit Fund* in the memory of the 32 students and faculty lost on 4/16/2007; may we honor them and our fallen loved ones through our actions today. (the owner of Stress-Free Living is a proud Virginia Tech graduate)
In honor of the 32, Stress-Free Living will contribute 3.2% of every sale to our chosen charitable organizations. This will be evenly distributed to the charities we believe to be in the most need.
A charitable donation link will be established on these pages such that you can add a small contribution to your orders
You can go here to learn more about the organization or contribute directly: VT.edu page for Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund.
Here is an excerpt from that page, as well as how you can send a gift my mail.
“Words cannot adequately express our gratitude to the thousands upon thousands who made contributions to these funds,” said Virginia Tech President Charles Steger.
Though the Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund was initially closed December 31, 2007, it was reopened in June 2008. All contributions to the Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund since its reopening are being distributed to the Hokie Spirit Scholarship Fund established by Virginia Tech as a memorial to the victims of the tragedy. Scholarships will be awarded to undergraduate students with demonstrated financial need, with a preference given to first-generation college students.
If you would like to mail a check, make it out to "Virginia Tech Foundation Inc.," designate the fund you wish to support on the memo line, and send it to:
